1.) The official name of North is Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.

He is the Chairman of the National Defense Commission, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, and he is the Supreme Commander of the Korean Peoples' Army which is the fourth largest army in the world. North Korea's constitution refers to him as the "Supreme Leader". He is a dictator. He has nuclear weapons at his disposal.
3.) In 1945, Korea won World war II against Japan. This victory ended Japan's 35 year rule over Korea. Shortly after this war, Korea was split into today's North Korea and South Korea.
